How Do You Promote Your Band?
In our ongoing effort to build a comprehensive BLUES DIRECTORY for Asia and the Pacific, we are uncovering information of vital interest to musicians and bands across the region, as well as their fans. We are encountering so many MySpace musician sites that have more or less been abandoned, with no updates for over a year. Even dedicated band websites seem to be falling by the wayside. More and more, bands seem to be turning instead to Facebook Pages. We are also seeing more Asian bands using Reverbnation and other sites that offer promotional services to bands, such as SonicBids and Nimbit. These services are beginning to offer significant integration with Facebook, an important factor in their increasing impact.
What are YOU doing to promote your band and yourself as a musician? Please share your experiences — it will help us build our understanding of the online marketplace, as we prepare for a detailed post about this important topic sometime later this year.
