Old Music Attracts More Youth in Tokyo

Welcome to CK, our newest contributor.
Good to hear that more young people are discovering the blues. I’ll never forget the feeling when i first learned the blues scale..and the thrill sill ain’t gone.
Glad to hear that there are young people interested in blues. There is so much junk pop music around and it is encouraging to hear that some of that youth can appreciate real fine music. Let’s hope that some of these young people may grow up to be the blues players of tomorrow.

It is actually kind of strange since young people are thought to like loud, fast beat music, but I love blues too. Maybe many youths are settling for the message conveyed in the blues music and not just the beats as it for rock and other genres of fast music.
I like blues music too, and I am youth. They convey powerful messages.
Most young people in Japan may not have a chance to be exposed to the blues music, unlike the youth in the U.S., for one reason or another–maybe because the mainstream music for their generation is J-pop, loud punk rock, or alternative music. But once they experience the deep world of the blues, they become addicted.
CK – just ran into a snag with my regular Friday night band for July. Work commitments. Until the Ice Breakers are ready to step up, can you recommend a couple of groups I can contact that might be able to fill on short notice?
I love blues music, and I am barely close to 30. I think the reason why more youth in Tokyo love it is because they are more exposed to it.
